The focus within the Commercial Banking SME Team is to deliver efficient banking services to a large portfolio of small and medium enterprise commercial customers and take those customers into more sophisticated products wherever opportunities can be identified. This represents perfect experience and exposure for development into relationship management roles and beyond.
This team concentrates on developing customer-driven product and service propositions for the Commercial Banking Relationship Management and SME Teams to deliver to customers, as well as developing new channels in which services can be delivered more effectively and efficiently. Customer segmentation is another major activity aimed at matching products to customer needs. All of these initiatives require an intimate understanding of customer businesses and internal liaison with other HSBC functions, such as product management, marketing and front-line customer teams.
