Orientation

A series of orientation programme is tailor-made to help you to familiarise with the new environment and to help you to pick up the real job in the core placement.

Core Placement in Trade and Supply Chain

HSBC has been involved in international trade from Hong Kong since 1865 and is now one of the largest trade services organisations in the world. Trade and Supply Chain works with customers to ensure that import and export transactions are managed effortlessly and effectively and provides their businesses with the best possible opportunities for growth.

Real-life working experience in different teams of Trade and Supply Chain provides an excellent grounding for working with commercial banking customers of all sizes and across a broad spectrum of industries.

Short Term Attachment in Project Management

During the Management Associate Programme, you will also undertake short term attachment in any CMB teams for projects. These teams are the "think tank" of Commercial Banking that involve in planning and developing business initiatives that support the strategic priorities of CMB. Working in these teams helps to develop a good understanding on products, banking services and their delivery channels. This attachment also involves liaison with other HSBC functions such as product management, marketing and front-line customer teams.

Short Term Attachment in Business Banking

Business Banking is one of the key strategic focuses of CMB. Our Business Banking team delivers efficient banking services to a large portfolio of small and medium enterprise commercial customers and recommends products or financial solutions that match the needs of customers. This represents ideal experience and exposure for development into commercial banker roles and beyond.

Core Placement in Credit Lending and Relationship Management

The final phase of the Management Associate Programme involves a core placement within a credit lending and relationship management role. As an Assistant Vice President, you will be the business partner with corporate clients to provide financial solutions and to make a serious contribution to the business.

During this placement in Credit Lending, you will also attach to the Risk Management Function to strengthen your knowledge in credit lending. This team plays a critical role in maximising customer business opportunities and provides valuable experience in commercial credit risk and advanced behavioural scoring techniques.

By the end of the placement, you should be ready for a Vice President role in the relationship management team or other opportunities in Commercial Banking.
