HSBC's Credit Quality Assurance (CQA) team aims to ensure a smooth transition of the credit review function and compliance with HSBC's external auditor and regulators requirement. We are now seeking a high-calibre candidate to join our team as Senior Manager Credit Quality Assurance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual review planning process and determine credit review priorities based on Group guidelines, senior management guidance and key risk indicators (KRIs) of individual Areas
  • Identify new and emerging areas of credit risk across Asia-Pacific pro-actively and adapt the annual review plan and credit review process as appropriate
  • Determine resource requirements at the planning stage and on an ongoing basis to ensure that resources are optimally deployed
  • Establish KRIs to be used for risk-based review planning and continuously review these KRIs to ensure they remain relevant and reflective of risks faced by Areas and the business
  • Provide overall leadership in credit reviews and quality control through review of CQA output and assessment of CQA processes and procedures
  • Ensure CQA department processes and procedures facilitate a rigorous credit review of Areas, in a streamlined, efficient and value-adding manner
  • Present periodic updates to risk management and audit committees and advise Area senior management on findings from review as well as recommendations on action required
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to the team and ensure that team members receive relevant on-the-job and formal training
  • Keep abreast of knowledge of business, organizational, credit risk and technological changes as well as pertinent internal and regulatory policy and procedural requirements to ensure review integrity, process innovation, and service quality

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial lending, credit or audit
  • Good analytical skills with an inquisitive mind
  • Proven leadership and good people management skills
  • Self-confidence and assertiveness in dealing with senior management and other functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
