Asia-Pacific Credit Risk Management


HSBC's Credit Quality Assurance (CQA) team aims to ensure a smooth transition of the credit review function and compliance with HSBC's external auditor and regulators requirement. We are now seeking a high-calibre candidate to join our team as Senior Credit Examiner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide input in the annual review planning process and determine annual review priorities based on Group guidelines, senior management guidance and key risk indicators (KRIs) of individual Areas
  • Determine resource requirements at the planning stage and on an ongoing basis to ensure that resources are optimally deployed
  • Plan and drive execution of credit reviews of Areas; determine sampling priorities and identify other risk areas to be covered in review
  • Review credit file review work by credit examiners; consolidate findings in the Credit Risk Review report produced for the Area and ensure credit file review summaries are prepared in an efficient, timely and concise manner
  • Ensure CQA department processes and procedures facilitate a rigorous credit review of Areas, in a streamlined, efficient and value-adding manner
  • Assure the Area senior management is informed of findings throughout the review and make constructive recommendations on action required
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to the team and ensure that team members receive relevant on-the-job and formal training
  • Keep abreast of knowledge of business, organisational, credit risk and technological changes as well as pertinent internal and regulatory policy and procedural requirements to ensure review integrity, process innovation and service quality

Requirements

  • Experienced in commercial lending, credit or audit with knowledge of auditing and regulatory requirements
  • Good analytical skills with an inquisitive mind
  • Excellent Leadership and people skills
  • Self-confidence and assertiveness in dealing with senior management and other functional teams
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
