As part of our regional management information (MI) strategy, a Regional Business MI database will be built to obtain data from the Financial MI system used by around 40 countries across the HSBC Group, as well as other underlying systems, to provide senior management with the consolidated MI at a regional level. The Regional Business MI database will also facilitate drill down analysis at site, line-of-business and product level.


Key Responsibilities


In this role, you will develop and maintain the Regional Business MI Database. Working closely with the regional MI system team, you will:

  • Liaise with Asia-Pacific Finance and other business users to obtain user requirements for the Regional Business MI Database
  • Analyse user requirements and propose how they can be fulfilled under the Regional Business MI structure
  • Liaise with IT teams to develop interfaces to extract the required data from various underlying systems and consolidate it at regional level
  • Define, design and develop the dashboard and MI reports for viewing by Senior Management
  • Ensure that necessary controls are in place to verify that reported data are accurate and reconcilable with GRCA results
  • Prepare test plans, conduct user acceptance testing and monitor progress against agreed timetables
  • Update user documentation as necessary
  • Liaise with regional sites on standardisation projects

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with at least four years' post-qualification experience, preferably with some experience in the design or implementation of Accounting and Reporting systems
  • Sound knowledge of management accounting with a basic understanding of various banking and treasury products
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to work with people at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willing to travel overseas occasionally
