MANAGER TREASURY ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING

Within Asia-Pacific Finance, Area Accounting is responsible for our Hong Kong operations' accounting and financial reporting. The financial reporting function includes financial reporting to Head Office to meet local and global reporting requirements, regulatory reporting to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and provision of business information to senior management. We are looking for a manager to take charge of treasury reporting.


Key Responsibilities


Reporting to Senior Manager Financial and Regulatory Reporting, you will:

  • Review new treasury products with Treasury Finance to ensure they are correctly accounted for and reported
  • Ensure the financial data integrity of treasury products by resolving issues and irregularities arising from treasury system failure or operational problems
  • Interpret new accounting standards and reporting instructions, and liaise with other departments to set up necessary reports and procedures
  • Initiate system enhancement requirements gathering, and provide appropriate specifications
  • Participate in new treasury system implementation projects
  • Manage the production of GRCA reporting for treasury derivative products
  • Manage the production of HKMA regulatory returns and surveys relating to treasury products
  • Manage the production of various Government surveys

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with at least 15 years' post-qualification experience in banks or financial institutions and relevant working experience in Treasury accounting and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury products and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exposure to Treasury systems, including Sophis, Calypso and Summit is a plus
  • Able to work under pressure
