Asia-Pacific Finance


Our Asia-Pacific Finance department is in the process of setting up an Asset and Liability Management (ALM) system to provide both historical and forward-looking analyses. This ALM system is expected to cover all our Asia-Pacific branches and subsidiaries, and has to be very flexible to accommodate the needs of a wide range of users. We are now seeking an experienced executive to implement and operate the ALM system to produce analyses for various ALM and customer groups.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist to evaluate users' requirements, identify best practices, liaise with Group Headquarters or other HSBC Group ALM system users and design appropriate analyses
  • Ensure that system solutions delivered meet user requirements and comply with ALCO reporting requirements
  • Assist regional branches, subsidiaries and customer groups to develop tailor-made analyses and reports
  • Assist in the development and implementation of models in QRM system
  • Help users understand reports and analyses generated by the ALM system
  • Assist to specify and perform testing of ALM model and to ensure all model development and testing in accordance with the policy and requirements

Requirements

  • Preferably a qualified accountant with at least three years' working experience in large international financial institutions
  • Solid and maintained knowledge of the latest financial modeling techniques, product knowledge and the competitor environment
  • Innovative self starter, with a very high level of energy and commitment
  • Strong organisational skills including ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Must be an effective translator of complex models / technical information for non experts
  • Model development, validation and documentation expertise
  • Strong analytical reasoning and creative problem solving skills
  • A good team player with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Able to work independently and under pressure ; values teamwork and partnering
