Global Markets Operations


Global Markets Operations, which provides operational support to Global Banking and Markets division, is the largest dealing room in Asia outside Japan. Structured Products Team specialises in supporting all type of derivatives and structured transactions, ranging from traditional derivatives like Interest Rate Swaps and Options, to tailor-made structured tax deals, to various new market initiatives such as Structured Credit Products, Collateral Management. This dynamic business area is currently expanding rapidly, thereby creating a range of exciting opportunities for experienced, ambitious professionals who look for challenges and career progression.


Key Responsibilities


  • Drive the derivatives change agenda, including the rollout of new systems and business initiatives, through proper governance of the system implementation cycle and accurate resolution of conflicting priorities and dependencies
  • Maximise productivity by reviewing work flows and exploring opportunities for automation
  • Identify and assess operational risk levels and analyse the root causes of operational errors
  • Provide recommendations and advice to the Business regarding compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Control costs by streamlining workflows and implementing measures to enhance productivity

Requirements

  • University graduate in Finance or another related discipline
  • At least eight years' relevant experience in change management, operational risk or project management in an investment banking environment
  • Strong exposure to the full range of Derivatives, Structured Products and financial control requirements, including risk and accounting processes governed by best practice guidelines and external regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Sound negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
