Global Markets Operations


Global Markets Operations (GMO), which provides operational support to Global Banking and Markets division, is the largest dealing room in Asia outside Japan. Global Markets Operations is responsible for the settlement of all foreign exchange, money markets, fixed income, equities and derivatives products.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform deal processing, coordinate deal booking and deal exception checking
  • Investigate discrepancies in trade details with traders, relevant operations teams and counterparties to avoid operational loss
  • Perform daily control and reconciliation to ensure deals are completely captured and processed
  • Ensure all settlement instructions are issued before the stipulated deadlines in each market and trades are settled on time or followed up promptly with counterparties
  • Liaise frequently with the Front Office, Overseas Offices, local brokers, clearing agents and clients in resolving settlement issues
  • Monitor and follow-up on failed trades to achieve high settlement efficiency
  • Project funding requirement for securities transactions
  • Monitor dividends/coupon and ensure that they are distributed promptly
  • Advise clients on corporate action events and ensure that responses from clients are received before deadlines and turnaround to the custodian
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding corporate action event confirmation

Requirements

  • University graduate preferably in a Business related discipline and a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in Securities operations
  • Possess sound knowledge of equities and fixed income processing preferably in Asia-Pacific markets
  • Strong analytical mind with good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Applicants with less experience will be considered for the Assistant Manager / Officer position
