Asia-Pacific Personal Financial Services (ASP PFS) - Consumer Assets


ASP PFS Consumer Assets provides thought leadership and consultative support to 18 ASP markets for consumer banking products including credit cards, debit cards, consumer loans (personal installment loans, consumer finance) and consumer propositions - payroll, retailers etc. In addition it also provides oversight of approval processes, business planning and recommends allocation of regional resources.


Key Responsibilities


You will be responsible for identifying, recommending, leading and implementing approved strategic initiatives, which materially improve the customer proposition / revenue related to the Personal Installment Loan propositions.

  • Lead major personal installment loans strategic initiatives end to end across encompassing concept initiation, identification of target segments, sourcing market research, competitive and gap analysis, process development, articulating systems requirements, formulation of pricing and distribution strategies, financial analysis, overall rollout plans, pre- and post-implementation analysis to initiate and development of continuous improvement strategies
  • Identify new product opportunities and service enhancements from the market and ASP PFS businesses that augment current product revenues and reduce revenue leakage
  • Work with other ASP PFS and country departments including Risk, Business Transformation, Systems, Operations, Compliance etc. to ensure implementation
  • Partner with risk and marketing to develop a customer segmentation approach and leverage the same to optimize profitability
  • Partner with risk to evolve profit optimization strategies while reducing losses from bad debts
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring
  • Leverage best practice with Group as well as scanning the competitive environment in order to recommend new distribution approaches (e.g. partnerships with retailers) and collaborate with ASP markets to implement as appropriate
  • Ensure Consumer Assets is 'joined-up' on important programs that impact product performance, business growth and customer experience

Requirements

  • A university graduate with a relevant business degree
  • A minimum of eight years' experience, including at least three years in product development, product management or business development in personal loans
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven expertise in managing multiple levels across ASP
  • Astute business sense to develop cost-effective and results-oriented initiatives
  • Able to lead by influencing others remotely
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken English
