To help today's students become tomorrow's business leaders, HSBC sponsored the Company Programme. It is an 18-week entrepreneurial education programme organised by Junior Achievement Hong Kong focusing on entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership and teamwork.

The Company Programme gives upper secondary school students in Hong Kong the chance to set up and run their own companies under the guidance of volunteer business advisers. The students raise capital, elect officers, produce and market real products and services, keep financial records, hold shareholders' meetings and liquidate the company at the end.
In 2005 the Company Programme won the 'Outstanding Partnership Project Award' under the 'Caring Company Scheme' from the Hong Kong Council of Social Services.
Students get to sell their company's products at the annual trade fair. At the 2006/07 trade fair, 75 student companies operated by more than 1,600 student entrepreneurs sold hundreds of products, attracting over 10,000 visitors. 37 companies donated around HKD54,000 to charities.
A CEO of the Year award is presented to the most outstanding leader of a student company. The last winner had the enviable opportunity to job shadow HSBC General Manager Global Co-Head Commercial Banking Margaret Leung.
Since the start of the Company Programme in 2003, the number of participating schools has increased from 25 in the first year to 75 in 2006/07. More than 5,000 secondary students have completed the entrepreneurial venture under the guidance of over 490 volunteer business advisers. Around 210 HSBC volunteers have participated in the programme, contributing over 15,700 hours to the initiative.
