Bringing laughter and joy to the elderly

Caring for the elderly has always been on the HSBC agenda. We look after the elderly's daily needs. HSBC helped provide a warm home to the elderly through the injection of HK$6.36 million to build the Helping Hand The Hongkong Bank Foundation Lok Fu Care Home in 1995. It is one of the first few elderly homes in the district in the early 90s.

Lok Fu Care Home, home to more than 70 senior citizens, accommodates with basic facilities and a physiotherapy room for rehabilitation exercises. With the support of District Community Programme, this care home enriches souls through many activities such as ball games for the elderly.

HSBC Volunteers also visit different elderly homes regularly, organising birthday parties and giving hair-cutting service to the elderly. Their Chinese music and Cantonese opera performance are highly valued.

Ling Sau Chun"I enjoy the care and the facilities here. It's spacious and clean with helpful nurses and physiotherapists. I had fun in the recreational activities held the care home which are good for my health."

Yeung Wai Ching"HSBC volunteers frequently visit us and know us by names! They help cut our hair and celebrate our birthdays and show care for us. This is exactly what we need."
