On 7 March, three thousand people hit the pedal in HSBC Pok Oi Cycle for Millions 2010. This is the second year that HSBC has supported the charity ride. Group Executive Director and Chairman, Commercial Banking, Personal Banking and Insurance of HSBC Holdings plc Sandy Flockhart led an HSBC team of some 300 colleagues and their family to participate in the event. Among HSBC colleagues are the Bank's pro-cycling team. Joining them were riders from corporates as well as social welfare agencies, students and members of the public. Participants started at Tai Po Waterfront Park and rode along the Tolo Harbour Cycle Trail to Yuen Wo Park in Shatin, with a total distance of 10km. While pedaling for a green community, the participating corporate teams and individuals also raised HKD3 million to support Pok Oi's education, medical and social services. HSBC also clinches Champion of Best Fundraising Team (Corporate category), Team Spirit Award and Most Creative Bike Award.
