HSBC Diversity Grant

To help promote diversity at eight Hong Kong universities, HSBC donated more than HKD910,000 for scholarships and programmes in 2005.

“The new scholarships will encourage academically gifted Mainland and overseas students to study in the Hong Kong SAR, support Hong Kong students on an academic exchange to mainland China, and provide financial assistance to students with disabilities. Our new programmes will also facilitate integration and mutual learning between local and non-local students.”

Vincent Cheng,
Chairman, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited

Part of the donation has been used to establish the "HSBC Diversity Grant" which provides funding for projects to help students from different cultural backgrounds to integrate with their peers and with the wider local community.
