HSBC is committed to looking after its employees' well-being in the belief that a healthy body and mind will have a positive impact on their professional and personal lives.

In addition to the initiatives designed to improve the health, safety and well-being of our people at work, the Bank also offers a number of recreational and educational activities to help employees pursue their interests and find ways to unwind.

HSBC offers employees 24-hour professional counselling services through the Christian Family Service Centre.

The counselling covers issues such as stress management, interpersonal and family relationships, marriage counselling, parenting and planning for retirement. Helplines have also been set up to provide medical, legal and financial advice to employees.

Each year the Hong Kong Council of Social Service recognises 'Caring Companies' for community giving and business programmes and initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of their employees.

In 2005 HSBC was the only winner of the Total Caring Award out of 679 Caring Companies.
