HSBC Living Finance is a financial education programme developed by HSBC to help teenagers in Hong Kong to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make wise financial decisions and to lead a better life in the future.
Launched in the fourth quarter of 2006, the programme includes the HSBC Living Finance Workshops, the HSBC Young Financial Planner Competition and the Living Finance Website.
The HSBC Living Finance Workshops are free financial literacy workshops for secondary students (from Forms 3, 4 and 6) to acquire basic financial knowledge as well as to widen their exposure through sharing HSBC senior executives' experience and by touring the bank.
Three workshops will be run between April and May 2008. Each workshop of about two hours will include a seminar on basic financial concepts, an experience-sharing session and a tour of the banking hall.
The HSBC Young Financial Planner Competition is an inter-school competition open to Form 3, 4 and 6 students, with the aim of raising young people's awareness of the importance of financial planning.
Through tackling family financial cases, students can acquire practical financial knowledge, practise their financial planning skills and develop their analytical ability and teamwork.
The HSBC Living Finance Website aims to introduce the concept of financial planning to the general public by providing basic information on savings, credit, insurance and investment. Readers can explore more in-depth information on specific topics through the useful links provided.
This website also serves as a communication channel between the general public and HSBC Living Finance.
