Why do you need Supplementary Major Medical (SMM) benefit?

Supplementary Major Medical (SMM) benefit is an optional top-up that offers partial reimbursement of hospital expenses incurred on top of the payable VHIS One coverage. When you opt for VHIS One with SMM benefit, you can:

get an additional cover of up to HKD120,000 to pay for 80% of medical expenses on top of the specified individual benefit limits
make your insurance coverage more comprehensive

Yes, you can by submitting a written request before the deadline on your renewal notice.

We won't need an underwriting upon policy renewal if you want to:

change from a One Plan to a Standard Plan
downgrade your plan level from with SMM to without SMM

However, we'll require an underwriting and may ask you a few questions before approving a change if you want to:

upgrade your plan level from without SMM to with SMM
change plan from One plan to Flexi plan
