Choose from our Basic, Essential and Privilege plans, depending on the cover you require. Or if you have existing company insurance, our Company Top-up plan works alongside it to give you enhanced coverfootnote1.
You can choose to extend your hospital and surgical so you will not have to worry about the cost of treatment exceeding your plan limit, minimising the financial impact in case of unexpected illness.
Additional cover is available for a wide range of general, specialist and Chinese medicine practitioners, including acupuncture and other forms of alternative treatments. While a large network of professionals across Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China are available, you may also choose your own preferred doctor even if they are not in the network.
Optional maternity benefits are available that cover hospital confinement, pre-natal, and post-natal outpatient expenses in case of normal delivery, abnormal delivery, or miscarriage. Please note that maternity benefits are not payable during the first year of plan coverage.

Most inpatient treatments are planned. To make your hospital stay hassle-free, you are only required to submit a Pre-authorisation (PA) Form to AXA, so that once it has been approved, you can obtain the Pre-authorisation Confirmation Letter for your treatment up to the pre-authorised limits and a letter of guarantee with the pre-authorised limits will be sent to your designated hospital directly prior to your admission. Upon presentation of your FirstCare card, no advance payment will be required by private hospitals in Hong Kong up to the pre-authorised limits. Payment of charges for any items not listed in the Policy Schedule or excluded under this policy (e.g. shampoo, newspaper, meal for guest, and treatment for exclusion conditions) will have to be borne by you. In case of any shortfall (the amount we paid to the hospital for the items which are not covered by the plan or exceed the plan limit), we will charge the excess directly against your credit card as designated by you for this purpose.
Direct billing service for hospitalisation and outpatient surgeries are not applicable to Company Top-up plan and the approval of direct billing and the issuance of the letter of guarantee for direct billing are subject to the final decision of AXA.

You won’t have to pay in advance for immediate hospital treatment in over 240 designated mainland China hospitals in case of bodily injury or unforeseen illness, just simply present your relevant identification document and FirstCare card with its Medpass logofootnote1.
In case of hospitalisation due to accidental bodily injury, you will be entitled to a series of caring services including home care service delivered by a domestic home helper, baby-sitting or child care service for your child(ren), pet care and accommodation and meal delivery assistance, giving you a helping hand to minimise the negative impact in your daily life that may be caused by the accident.
After receiving the initial diagnosis for a medical condition from your registered medical practitioner, we will help you to obtain a second medical opinion from the medical specialist of your chosen designated network hospital. The medical specialist will then prepare a written medical report which will be explained to you by a registered medical practitioner in Hong Kong.
Each insured person can choose one from a range of checks and tests once a year at no cost. These include tests for basic wellness, bone density (spine and hip), eyesight as well as influenza vaccination and pap smear test (for female). If you’re 50 or above you also qualify for a free critical illness check-up once every 3 years.
Adults can enrol from the age of 18 and up to 74footnote9, and we accept family enrolments, including spouse or unmarried children aged 15 days but under 18 years old who are financially solely dependent upon the insured person or the policyholder, or full-time students aged 23 or below, which are entitled to 10% family discount. If your partnerfootnote10 or parents are insured under a separate FirstCare policy, they can also enjoy a 10% family discount.

Plans are guaranteed lifetime renewable, except where there has been, overdue payments or shortfall arising from a claim or fraudulent claims. However, the premium rates and age range of each group are not guaranteed. The premium payable upon renewal and the terms of the renewed policy may not be the same as the existing policy and will be determined by AXA. Please refer to the respective premium table for details of the premium rates for different plans and options, which may be changed from time to time by AXA without prior notification.
Simply enrol your immediate family members (i.e. spouse or children) by filling in their details on the amendment form. Then select different plan and optional benefits for your family members under the same policy to meet their individual medical needs. If any of the Optional Supplementary Major Medical Benefits is / are selected, the plan selected must be the same as the core Hospital and Surgical Benefits.
Overseas treatment is covered under Hospital and Surgical Benefits, except in the case of the Optional Supplementary Major Medical Benefits where it will cover only accident or emergency situations. The cover is intended for occasional visits overseas, and different countries have different treatment costs. If you emigrate to another country you may need to see if the coverage is adequate for you, and this is likely to depend upon the country you have chosen.
If you receive treatment out of Hong Kong, then you will have to settle the bill first and claim reimbursement from us. For detailed procedures, please refer to the policyholder user guide which will be provided to you together with the policy contract after your policy takes effect.
The policy does not cover medical expenses arising from hospitalisation primarily for investigation or physiotherapy. For it to be a legitimate claim, you must receive therapeutic treatment during the hospitalisation in addition to the investigation.
A renewal notice will be sent to you around one and a half month before the current policy term expires. If you decide not to renew the policy, you will need to inform us in writing one month before policy expires, or the policy will be renewed automatically.
