Virtual onboarding

Some careers open more doors than others.

Your benefits

HSBC offers a competitive remuneration package, which includes discretionary bonuses (decided by factors including performance) and a comprehensive range of benefits. We also offer programmes and plans to help with your financial security and wellbeing.

Your actions:

  • Get an introduction to your benefits on the pre-hire version of MyBenefits - you should have received the username and password from us. You'll be able to access full information about your benefits and make your selections after your start date.

Please note that MyBenefits is launching on 1 April 2021 for all employees.  If you start date with us is:

  • Before 1 April 2021, you will make your benefit selections by submitting paper forms to the Recruitment & Onboarding team
  • After 1 April 2021, you will have access to MyBenefits from 1 April 2021 and will submit your benefit selections directly in the site

About virtual onboarding

We'll be inviting you to join an online video meeting to take part in the HR onboarding process. You’ll receive a Zoom invitation e-mail from Modern Hire shortly.

Your actions:

  1. Before your onboarding meeting, make sure you have these documents to hand:
  • HKID Card
  • Passport, visa label, and landing slip (if you're not a Hong Kong permanent resident)
  • Exit-Entry Permit (if you’re coming from mainland China)

2. Get your Hong Kong HSBC Personal Integrated Bank Account ready.

If you don't have a Hong Kong HSBC bank account for payroll purpose yet, you should download the HSBC HK mobile app and setup a HSBC HK account (choice of HSBC Premier or HSBC One) immediately. Please visit the guidance here.

If you are currently stationed outside of Hong Kong, please start immediately (at least one month prior to onboarding as international mailing takes time) and follow our instruction to apply for a HSBC Hong Kong account via the HSBC HK mobile app. Or otherwise, you can speak with your relationship manager at your local HSBC branch to arrange it.

As per our controls pursuant to the Hong Kong Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules, you will need to have your HSBC account opened before your official start date, or your start date will be impacted.
