  • The Death Benefit will only be paid after we have received satisfactory written proof of the validity of claim

For Cancerfootnote2, Early Stage Cancerfootnote2 and Carcinoma-in-situ (‘CIS’)footnote2 Benefits
  • A claim must be made within ninety (90) days of becoming aware of the Cancerfootnote2, CISfootnote2 or Early Stage Cancerfootnote2
  • Proof must be provided in the form of medical report from a registered medical practitioner
  • We reserve the right to require an examination or other reasonable and appropriate tests to confirm the occurrence of the Cancerfootnote2, CISfootnote2 or Early Stage Cancerfootnote2. This will be at the cost of the Policyholder.
  • Where a claim is made in reliance on the HIV Due to Blood Transfusion and Occupationally Acquired HIV exception, the claimant must also satisfy additional notice and documentary proof requirements.

HSBC Comprehensive Critical Illness Protection Plan

HSBC Comprehensive Critical Illness Protection Plan provides critical illness benefits protection under both Base Critical Illness Benefit and Multiple Critical Illness Benefit, allowing claims for Critical Illness of up to 200% of the Sum Insured for each of the two illness groups (Cancer Illness Group and Non-Cancer Illness Group).

You can be covered by this Policy up to the agefootnote6 of 80.

Yes, 90 days from the issue date or the effective date of last reinstatement.

Your premium is guaranteed not to change for the first 10 years of the Plan. Your premium will then be adjusted every 10 years. We will send you a notice prior to the premium change.

You have a right to cancel your Policy at any time. If you cancel during the Cooling-off Period, you will also be refunded of any premium(s) paid and/or any applicable levy paid. To cancel, you must provide us signed, written notice and return the policy document (if received).

Your Policy will be terminated automatically and you do not need to pay anymore premiums.

1 HSBC Cancer Term Protector is a term life protection plan with no savings element and it is not equivalent to any kind of deposit.

2 Please refer to Policy Provisions for the definitions and exclusions of Cancer, CIS and Early Stage Cancer. To be eligible for such benefit, the diagnosis must cover certain organ groups and certain classifications and subject to exclusions.

3 The total Sum Insured shall not exceed HK$2,500,000 (for Life Insured agedfootnote4 50 or below) or HK$1,250,000 (for Life Insured agedfootnote4 above 50). The Company reserves the right to accept or reject any applications for the Plan based on the information provided by the Life Insured and / or Policyholder during application.

4 Age means your age at your next birthday.

5 Policyholder / Beneficiary(ies) can only receive either ‘Death Benefit’ or ‘Cancer Benefit’.

6 The policy anniversary at which you reach the specified age based on age at next birthday.

7 For Death Benefit, the payment is subject to deduction of any outstanding premiums and any benefits you have already received for Early Stage Cancer or CIS under this Plan. For Cancer Benefit, the payment is subject to payment of any outstanding premium and deduction of benefits you have already received for Early Stage Cancer or CIS under this Plan.

8 You will receive one payment in case of either event, not on each event.

Your benefit is subject to the credit risk of the Company. Your premiums paid will form part of the Company's assets. You do not have any rights or ownership over any of those assets. Your recourse is against the Company only.

For monetary disputes arising between HSBC and you out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, HSBC will enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with you; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the product should be resolved between the Company and you directly.
